Description

Medical Education & Research Institute (MERI) is a non-profit organization which supports the advancement of medicine by providing bio-skills lab environments essential to medical and surgical training for healthcare professionals.

Our central U.S. location in Memphis, TN as well as our mobile support ability allow us to facilitate state-of-the-art, hands-on training and educational events for physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals from across the country and around the world. Our unique ability to coordinate all aspects of medical training is made possible in part by our exclusive partnership with the Genesis Legacy Whole Body Donation Foundation.

We are seeking to hire individuals to assist the Logistics team with daily tasks to ensure the accuracy and efficiency with which necessary materials and equipment are made available for offsite clinical courses. This position will generally assist with organizing materials inventory, packing and unpacking trucks, tracking equipment, and maintaining equipment and medical instrumentation that is used at clinical events throughout the country.

As a Logistics Assistant, your role will include

General Responsibilities:

  • inspecting, sorting, maintaining, and verifying equipment and supplies 
  • assist with loading and unloading of medical equipment from trucks 
  • packing, unpacking, cleaning, and restocking inventory and supplies for warehouse
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of staging and warehouse area
  • move/position MERI owned vans and trucks for loading/unloading activities
  • other similar activities related to equipment used for offsite clinical courses as needed 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid driver's license and ability to obtain DOT medical certification upon hire
  • ability to handle cadaveric specimens/tissue as needed
  • ability to lift and move up to 150 pounds max
  • other physical requirements include ability to sit, stand, walk for longer periods, push, pull, grab, manipulate often, ability to communicate with other team members
  • ability to drive a forklift and operate other mechanical equipment used for truck loading/unloading activities  

Additional Information:

This is a full-time position with a normal work schedule of 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.  Some overtime and scheduling outside of these days/times may be required. Starting pay rate is $15 per hour with growth potential.
